Merle Baxa Brake
Merle Baxa Brake, age 98, of Baldwin, GA died Friday, January 28, 2011. She was born September 26, 1912 in Upshur Co. WV a daughter of the late James Edward and Icie Charlotte Smith Baxa. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Doncel Brake; one brother; four sisters and one niece Leonora Talbott Strader. She is survived by niece Dorthy Lee Dutchess and husband Dan of Winchester, VA; nephew James Boone and wife Frances of Ocala, FL; two nieces and two nephews on her husband side and many great nieces and great nephews. Mrs. Baxa was a member of the Rock Cave United Methodist Church attended WV Business College, worked several years as a secretary and was a homemaker. Friends will be received Friday, February 11, 2011 from 1-2 PM the funeral hour at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home with the Rev. Kara Phillippi officiating.
