Stephen McCoy Zickefoose

Stephen McCoy Zickefoose, age 56, of Buckhannon, WV died Saturday, July 30, 2011 at his home while surrounded by his loving and caring family whom he loved with all his heart. He was born June 11, 1955 in Buckhannon, a son of Sterling M. and Rosemary Brake Zickefoose of Panama City, FL. On June 16, 1973 he married Belinda Jane Zickefoose who survives. Also surviving are two brothers, Daniel Zickefoose and wife Ada of Panama City, and Vance Zickefoose and wife Beatrice of Montreal, Canada; two sisters, Deidrea Myers of Panama City and Jeanette Meeke and husband Monte of Lawton, OK; his three dogs, Corona, Sugar and Puppy and several nieces and nephews. Additionally he is survived by a special lifelong friend, Danny Sheets and family, Pat and Estie Andrews for their friendship and the times Pat had prayed with Steve. His hobbies were bowling and fishing. He loved to go to the lake with Tim, Bonnie and family, it was a peaceful place to relax and enjoy life. Steve served in the US Army, was a Union Carpenter and was a member of the Gould Christian Church of Adrian, WV where he served as an Elder. Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Monday, August 1, 2011 from 6-9 PM. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday at the Gould Christian Church where he will lie-in-state from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in the Helvetia Cemetery at Helvetia, WV. Buckhannon VFW Post # 3663, Frank B. Bartlett Post # 7 American Legion, DAV Chapters # 5 & # 36 will conduct Military Honors at the graveside.
