“Harry” was an entrepreneur in the true American way. He loved finding businesses on the decline and rejuvenating them – which he did numerous times. He was proud of the fact that he started out with nothing and made a success of so many things. Born and raised in Texas, he joined the Navy at the age of 17 and served on the “Big E” flat top as a radarman. Harry met his wife, “Hope”, in August of 1945 and in November successfully persuaded her to marry him, and for 71 years plus they have led and interesting and varied life together. Harry was a born story-teller and often regaled his friends with tales about his life and achievements. He loved wood-working, as many of his friends can attest to since he gave them so many of his projects. Harry is survived by his wife, Hope, as well as many he considered his “kids”: Cathy and Mike, Paul, Laura and Sonny, Michael, and Tonya. They will miss his advice and jokes. He is also survived by two sisters in Texas, Lillis and Ruby, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 2 PM – 4 PM at Butera’s Italian Grill.
